What is a CrowdRaiser?
A CrowdRaiser is your personal fundraising mission, that connects your passion for our cause with the power of your social network. It allows you to champion our mission by creating a customised campaign to rally support, spread awareness, and raise vital funds from your friends, family and community.
Whether you are running a marathon, celebrating a milestone birthday in lieu of gifts, hosting a community bake sale, or tackling a quirky personal challenge, CrowdRaising transforms your everyday activities into extraordinary impact.
How do I set up my CrowdRaiser?
Before you set up your CrowdRaiser page you will need:

a name

a URL name (the same or shortened version of your name)

a photo/image for your page (this can be a PNG or JPG file and must be less than 300KB in size)

Question: What is a good name for the CrowdRaiser Title Page?
It should include your name, describe the activity you will be doing, and include the Mareeba Animal Refuge name (or describe what work we do). E.g. Annie's race for Mareeba Animal Refuge, or Annie's race for local animals
Question: What do I use for the CrowdRaiser URL?
This can be the same or similar to the Page Title. It will all be lower case words and you cannot use symbols. If there are spaces between the words, hyphens will appear automatically
Question: What are the dimensions and size for the banner photo I upload into my CrowdRaiser page?
The image must be at least 800 pixels wide by 310 pixels tall. The size should be smaller than 300KB. Do not use text (it should just be an image).
Question: How do I make my photo/image suit the dimensions required?
Choose a free online tool such as Adobe Express, or Canva, to crop or scale the image automatically. Upload your .jpg or .png file into the tool. Type in the dimensions required. Download the new image.
Question: What is the default text that will appear on my CrowdRaiser page & can I change it?

You can change the text as you wish. The default text is as follows: "I am raising funds for Friends of the Animals Inc because I am inspired by their work. The difference they have made for animals in our community is just extraordinary! But they need more funding to make that happen. So please support their work by donating to my CrowdRaiser, as I know they will appreciate every cent received. And I will be very grateful for your contribution too!. Also- I would be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help the better!
Question: Do I have to collect money or do you take care of that?
By sharing your CrowdRaiser page, this enables people to pay directly to M.A.R. This is handled by the GiveNow Platform we use. However - there might be some people who prefer to pay you in cash, in which case you can collect the cash and then make a deposit to our bank account directly.
